A Lincoln High School senior and football team captain was among the first candidates selected this month to compete for an award recognizing an exceptional high school athlete in the tri-state area.
Lincoln quarterback and strong safety Marquise Gibson was one of ten Week 1 nominees chosen to compete for the Heart of a Giant award, a prize granted each year to one dedicated, hardworking high school football player, team manager, mascot, or other student team member. The award competition, which is open to high schoolers from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, is sponsored by USA Football, the New York Giants and Manhattan’s Hospital for Special Surgery.
