Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! My name is Mr. Sosa and I am the art teacher for the Leaps and Bounds Program.

This year we are back in-person. My hope is that students learn a lot and enjoy the class! This art course is an introductory art course that is designed to develop a student’s skills in art making, further enhance their visual aesthetics, support critical thinking through art criticism and establishes a strong knowledge substructure of art history. The elements of art and principles of design are core concepts that are embedded in every unit and lesson activity.I wish you all a wonderful school year! My goal is to push students to reach their highest potential. All materials for this class will be provided by Ferris High School. Students may bring a personal sketchbook and use it in class. They are relatively inexpensive and can be found in most stores that sell stationary. Students are expected to be prepared for class with a pencil, ready to participate, and be respectful to others. In the unfortunate event that a student is being disruptive or refusing to follow classroom etiquette, the student's parent or guardian will be contacted.

In the event that a student is sent home due to illness, students will be able to find assignments and access art class through Google Classroom. All students have been invited to join the class and must access the link through their student email.
